Alex North
Alex North was an American composer born on December 4, 1910. He was the first of only two composers to receive an Honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement. His scores include A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), Spartacus (1960), and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966). Some of his Intrada features include The Devil's Brigade (1968) and 2001: A Space Odyssey- The Original Score (1968). North died on September 8, 1991.
