Original soundtrack from Christian Alvart sci-fi tale with nods to horror genre in general, ALIEN in particular, starring Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster, Eddie Rouse. Michl Britsch creates dark, scary tone poem with meld of electronically manipulated sounds from guitar, bass, voice blending with orchestral colors. Considerable unique percussion colors also play large role, handled by four talented ensemble players under moniker Elbtone. Composer describes some effects in score: blowing into empty bottles, players moving about during recording itself, humming lowest possible tones, so forth. Some genuinely striking musical effects! Composer plays guitars, bass, trashcan, lap drums, cymbals, other keyboards. Programming, piano FX, additional musical ideas by Florian Tessloff. Berlin Pops Orchestra plays, Joris Bartsch Buhle leads. If experimental music, unusual textures, sound design-style writing and an atonal vernacular attract your attention, you'll be reeled in.
