Original soundtrack from wildly popular Mel Brooks comic western with Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Slim Pickens. Brooks supplies lyrics, Morris the music to several songs, then Morris fashions orchestral score around them. Dynamite main theme sung by Frankie Laine anchors with bright major key A-theme, minor-key B-theme complete with whip snaps, signature Americana western feel. Morris melds perfect blend of straight face western suspense, outlandish comedy. Rollicking saloon music makes appearance as well. Adding to generous package are superb, punchy recordings made at Warner Bros., crisp transfers made by Mike Matessino. This saddle blazes! John Morris conducts, delivers a knockout!
