LIFE BEFORE HER EYES, THE
Label: Lakeshore 34006 Date: 2008 Tracks: 12 Time = 53:43
Original soundtrack from Vadim Perelman mystery/thriller about effects of high school shooting, starring Uma Thurman, Evan Rachel Wood, Oscar Isaac. James Horner scores for intimate ensemble of keyboards, synthesized strings, guitar, wordless female voice. Ideas are wistful, gentle, sometimes cerebral, often haunting. Final sequence ("Young Diana's Future-A Future That Could Have Been... ") is delicate, beautiful highlight. Fine example of composer scoring inside picture rather than outside. James Horner composes, performs on piano.
