Original soundtrack from Robert Day espionage thriller with Ray Milland, George Wang, Stephen Boyd. Francesco De Masi anchors with riveting jazz theme but score is by no means mono-thematic. Elements of jazz mingle with symphonic strains throughout. Electric guitar with fortissimo brass is searing! Making diversions at various points are soft versions of love theme. Interestingly, even when blazing ahead, De Masi ensures melodic ideas are front & center. Results are dynamic jazz-influenced score with emphasis on tune. Francesco De Masi conducts.
