Original soundtrack from popular TV cop show from 1977-1983, starring Larry Wilcox, Erik Estrada. Musical highlights from Season Two (1978-79) offer early Alan Silvestri at work. Energetic cues play in non-stop hip-grindin' full throttle mode for modest ensemble of electric guitar, drum set, sharp brass, flute, lean string section. Ripe for disco era, Silvestri keeps rhythms front and center. Interestingly, each musical segment bursts with melody as well as energy. TV background music in the foreground! Bruce Broughton scores one sequence ("Trick or Treat"), stays consistent with thumping disco-style of Silvestri music. Silvestri also arranges original John Parker series theme in upbeat disco mode as well. CD presented from original stereo master elements.
