Oriignal soundtrack from MGM costume spectacle with Robert Taylor. Bronislau Kaper writes towards humor as well as derring-do. Interestingly, Kaper gets wit not from expectant light touch in score - indeed, orchestra is quite large. Rather, he finds ample room for comic touch in woodwinds, trombone glisses, other funny ideas. Forward motion is maintained through busy ideas, energetic pace. It's spirited if not especially memorable. Dynamic stereo presentation a major asset. Johnny Green conducts.
