Press Release from Music Box:
In collaboration with Gruppo Sugar, Music Box Records presents a 3-CD set featuring seven French soundtracks composed between 1975 and 1986: Je hais les acteurs (I Hate Actors) composed by Roland Vincent, Le Mariage du siècle (Marriage of the Century) composed by Jean Morlier, Fachoda, la mission Marchand, New York Blackout (Blackout), and Un escargot dans la tête (Snails in the Head) all composed by Didier Vasseur, Docteur Justice (Doctor Justice) composed by Pierre Porte and Trop c’est trop (Too Much Is Too Much) composed by Jean Bouchéty and Christian Chevallier.
In 2018, Music Box Records released the first volume of the box set Rare Soundtracks which was very quickly sold out. This second volume puts the spotlight on very different soundtracks genres (comedy, drama, action, thrillers, fantasy, historical): two extraordinary unsung composers (Roland Vincent and Jean Morlier) for two rather atypical French-style comedy films, a representative sample of Didier Vasseur’s works for cinema and television in the 1970s and three great French pop and film music arrangers who have left their mark on the 1970s pop culture (Pierre Porte, Jean Bouchéty and Christian Chevallier).
The present 3-CD edition has been fully remastered from the master tapes and includes a 16-page booklet with liner notes by Nicolas Magenham.
