Press Release from Varese Sarabande:
The 6th installment in our “We Hear You” Series is W.G. ‘Snuffy’ Walden’s score to the popular NBC series, The West Wing. The 2-CD set and will be limited to 2,000 units. Aaron Sorkin got the idea for The West Wing in 1985 while filming his script for The American President. At the end of the first season in 2000, The West Wing tied The Sopranos with 18 Emmy Award nominations each, winning nine, including Best Drama Series, and setting a record for a primetime series.
Walden won the Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title - Theme Music. He describes it as “a simple little gospel melody that’s orchestrated more like Copland with the horns,” but it was not written to be the main title. Fans have been asking Snuffy, and us, for years to release a collection of music from The West Wing. We are proud to give the fans what they want with this wonderful collection of music.
